“As a believer, I will learn from the lessons of my past and from the examples in the Bible to avoid falling away and to be strong in my faith when temptation comes.”
Discovery Questions
- What happened to the ancestors of the Israelites as Paul reminded the believers in I Cor. 10: 1-5?
- What warnings are issued to the believers to take heed and learn from? (v. 6,7,8, 9 & 10). Why were these examples written down?
- What was Paul’s admonition to the Corinthian believers about temptation? (V.11-13)
Understanding Questions
- What specific Old Testament story or event is mentioned in v. 1-4 by Apostle Paul, the author of this Book to the Corinthians?
- How do these lessons in the past (Discovery question #2) relate to the present. Mention contemporary parallel examples.
- What main impression does this passage imply in terms of God’s character and in relation to His promises?
Application Questions
- How can we avoid falling into the same pitfalls that our forefathers had fallen into?
- How can we, as a community of believers help each other from the mistakes of the past?
- Share a past or present experience you’ve had or have now where you see God’s faithfulness in the midst of temptations, trials, struggles and difficulties in your life and God’s way out for you roving that God is truly faithful in your life.
Closing: Take time to pray for one another on things that were shared in the Application portion.

- Ano ang nangyari sa mga ninuno ng mga Israelita na ipinaalaala ni Pablo sa mga mananampalataya sa I Corinto 10:1-5?
- Anong mga babala ang ibinibigay sa mga mananampalataya na dapat nilang matutunan at isakatuparan?(v. 6,7,8,9 & 10) Bakit isinulat ang mga halimbawang ito?
- Ano ang babala ni Pablo sa mga mananampalataya sa Corinto tungkol sa pagsubok o tentasyon (v.11-13)
Pag-unawa
- Anong mga pangyayari o kaganapan sa Lumang Tipan ang naganap na binanggit ni Apostol Pablo, ang lumikha ng aklat sa mga taga-Corinto, sa mga talatang 1-4?
- Paanong ang mga aral na ito sa nakaraan (Pagtuklas Q: #2) ay maiuugnay sa kasalukuyan? Magbanggit ng mga halimbawang makakapantay o maihahantulad sa kasalukuyan.
- Anong buong impresyon ang ibinibigay ng talatang ito na nagsasabi ng tungkol sa kung sino ang Diyos at yung Kanyang mga pangako?
Pagtugon
- Paano tayo makakaiwas na mabullid o magkasala at di magaya o matulad na katulad ng ating mga ninuno?
- Paano tayo, bilang isang komunidad ng mga mananampalataya, makapagtutulungan upang maiwasan ang mga pagkakamali sa nakaraan?
- Magbahagi ng isang karanasan mo kung saan mo naranasan ang katapatan ng Panginoon sa iyo sa gitna ng isang pagsubok o kahirapan at ng kalakasang ibinigay Niya upang mapagtagumpayan ang pagsubok na ito.
Pagtatapos: Magpanalanginan sa isa’t isa sa mga bagay na ibinahagi sa pagtugon o paglalapat sa buhay.
