A. Discovery Questions

1. According to verse 1, where does our help come from?
2. What kind of help does God provide His children?

B. Understanding Questions 

1. The psalmist starts the verse with“I lift up my eyes to the hills”. This supports the view that these verses are part of the collection of psalms(Ps. 120-134) sung by the Jewish people as they ascended the road toward Jerusalem to celebrate their annual festivals. How do the“Songs of Ascent” help them?
2. If help comes from God, what should the attitude of believers be when they are faced with problems, pain and suffering? Do we still need other people or fellow believers in difficult times when we know that our help comes from God?

C. Application Questions

1. If you were asked the question, “Where does your help come from,” what would be your honest response?
2. What fears and worries are you facing in 2021? Look toward the hills of the Lord for help. Name the attributes and abilities of God that will help reinforce your faith in Him.
