Bible Challenge: 2 Corinthians 3:7-4:6

Take-Home Principle:

As part of the New Covenant, I will proclaim nothing else but God’s glory in my life and share His glory to the people around me.

A. Discovery Questions

  1. What covers the minds of people so that they do not understand, and how is this taken away (v.14, 16)?
  2. What happens when the veil is taken away? (v. 17-18)
  3. According to Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:1-2, how should the Corinthian believers respond in carrying out and continuing the Lord’s ministry  through God’s mercy?

B. Understanding Questions

  1. In Chapter 3, Paul compared the Old and New Covenant. How did he describe the New Covenant that we are in compared to the Old Covenant?
  2. In 2 Cor. 4:3-4, Paul says that unbelievers might be blinded by the “god of this age” and therefore cannot “see the light of the gospel.” Is it a futile exercise or quixotic endeavor then to share the Gospel to those whose hearts are hardened with anything that deals with Jesus Christ, and may even make a mockery of your efforts?
  3. What did Paul mean when he said to the Corinthians “For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Cor. 4:5)?

C. Application Questions

  1. What are specific ways that we can do to exhibit God’s glory to other people with the freedom that we have received from God’s mercy in the New Covenant?
  2. If you can evaluate yourself as part of the New Covenant, how would you assess yourself based on how you carry out God’s glory in your daily life?
  3. Can you think of 1 or 2 persons that you [may] have a hard time sharing the Gospel with (either no interest, or violently opposed to the Gospel)? How would you reach out and win them to the Lord?
