Bible Challenge: Jeremiah 6:16

Take-Home Principle:

“As a follower of Christ, I will purposely face my crossroads to honor God with my choices.”

A. Discovery Questions

  1. What are Jeremiah’s exhortations to the people Of Judah?
  2. What is the result of following Jeremiah’s admonitions?

B. Understanding Questions

  1. What is a crossroad? What is the crossroad for Judah at Jeremiah’s time?
  2. Why stand and look?
  3. What is the meaning of “asking for the ancient path” and how did Jeremiah picture walking in it?

C. Application Questions

  1. As followers of Jesus Christ, we have passed our main crossroad when we decided to surrender our life to His Lordship. We are now walking the path but as we journey daily, we encounter hardships, illness, crisis upon crisis which brings us to a point where we rethink our life and decide to have a critical change, either to stop our drifting away from God, orbring about a closer walk with him. Have you experienced a crossroad lately?
  2. As a Christian member of a family, an elder/servant leader, or a shepherd of the flock, what can we glean from Judah’s rebellious ways? How can we discern if we are truly obeying God or if we are dishonoring Him in any way?
  3. Judgment from God (either on a personal level or as a nation) is clearly emphasized by Jeremiah when God’s people become unfaithful and disobedient. Can you think of a concrete way to demonstrate repentance and contrition as a Filipino citizen? Are we prepared to face Judgement for our sins as a nation?
