Understanding Questions
- Who was the author referring to as “those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonishes you”. What does he mean by “acknowledge” these people? (v. 12)
- Who are those who were described by the author as idle and disruptive; disheartened and weak?
- In verse 15, the author urged the readers to strive for kindness and not revenge, “to do what is good for each other and for everyone else”. Who are those referred to as everyone else? Why is it very important?
Application Questions
- What is the proper relationship between authority and service as shown in the offices of the church?
a. How are you “acknowledging” the spiritual overseers of the church?
b. What are practical ways can you show appreciation and encouragement to those in the ministry? - What does it really mean to love your enemies? Does this trample justice? Cite instances where you’ve experienced this dilemma (or if somebody has wronged you), and share with the group what you did to face this. Also, as a follower of Christ, how can we pursue justice inside and outside the church without being vengeful?
- How can we encourage the fainthearted? How does a person receive assurance? Share with the group your experiences and action steps. After doing so, encourage each other in prayer.

- Sino ang tinutukoy ng may akda bilang “ang mga nagpapakahirap sa pamamahala at pagtuturo sa inyo alang-alang sa Panginoon”. Anong ibig sabihin ng may akda sa “igalang” ninyo ang mga ito? (v. 12)
- Sino-sino ang inilarawan ng may akda bilang mga tamad, magulo at mahihina?
- Sa talata 15, inudyokan ng may akda ang magbabasa na magsikap para sa kabaitan at hindi ang paghihiganti, “sa hali, magpatuloy sa paggawa ng abuti sa isa’t-isa at sa lahat”. Sino ang tinutukoy dito bilang “at sa lahat (o ang iba pa)”? Bakit ito napakaimprtante?
Pagtugon
- Ano ang maayos na relasyon sa pagitan ng awtoridad at ang serbisyo na ipinapakita ng mga ikinauukulan sa sibmahan?
a. Paano mo ipinapakita ang “pagkikilala” sa mga spiritual overseers ng iglesia?
b. Ano-ano ang mga praktikal na paraan upang himukin ang mga nasa ministeryo? - Ano ba talaga ang ibig sabihin na mahalin ang iyong mga kaaway? It ba ay tumatapak sa hustisiya? Magbigay ng mga pagkakataon kung saan naranasan mo itong problemang ito (or kung may nagkamali/nakasakit sayo). Ibahagi ito sa buong grupo. Isa pa ay, bilang tagasunod ni Kristo, paano natin hahabulin ang hustisiya sa loob ng Iglesia na hindi mapaghiganti?
- Paano natin hihimukin ang mga mahihina ang loob? Paano matatanggap ng isang tao ang kasiguraduhan? Ibahagi sa grupo ang iyong mga karanasan at mga hakbang ukol dito. Pagkatapos ay himukin ang bawat-isa sa panalangin.
