Take Home Principle: 

“As a believer who recognizes Christ as my Savior, Lord, and Master, I will give up everything to follow Him.”

Discovery Question

  1. Who approached Jesus and why did he come? (Matthew 19:2; Mark 10:17,22)
  2. What did Jesus require from this man to inherit eternal life?  (v.1-4, 5-9, 17, 19, 21)
  3.  Why did the man leave away sad despite declaring that he had kept commandments since he was a boy? (v.22)

Understanding Questions 

  1. What is the meaning of the young man’s question (“What must I do to inherit eternal life?) to Jesus?
  2.  Why was it necessary for Jesus to require the man to give up his possessions to inherit eternal life.?
  3. Can we not be saved and be wealthy at the same time?

Application Questions

  1. Looking back, can you recall what you gave up in order to follow Christ? Was it worth it?
  2. Wealth and riches may take different forms for each one of us. It can be in the form of money, family and connections, education, talents, opportunities, and power. Which is yours-the one that hinders you most from giving yourself fully to God? Pray together with a partner and commit to help one another to follow and walk with Jesus.
  3. Jesus always looked with love at anyone who runs away from Him. The whole book of Hosea is a testament to this.You may know or have encountered a person who has heard the Gospel but “walked away sadly” or is struggling  in committing to follow Jesus, even a believer who has lost his/her footing. List down three names who you can pray for. Reach out to follow them up.

Mahalagang Prinsipyo sa Buhay: 

“Bilang isang mananampalataya na kumikilala kay Kristo bilang Tagapagligtas, Panginoon, at Guro,aking  isusuko ang lahat para sumunod sa Kanya.”

Pagtuklas

  1. Sino ang lumapit kay Hesus at bakit siya naparoon? (Mateo 19:.20,Marcos 10: 17 & 22)
  2. Ano ang hinihiling ni Jesus sa taong ito upang magkamit ng buhay na walang hanggan? (v.1-4, 5-9, 17, 19, 21)
  3. Bakit umalis ang lalaki na malungkot sa kabila ng pagsasabi na sinunod niya ang mga utos mula pa noong siya ay bata ? (v.22)

Pag-unawa

  1. Ano ang kahulugan ng tanong ng binata (“Ano ang dapat kong gawin upang magkamit  ng buhay na walang hanggan?) kay Jesus?
  2. Bakit kinailangan ni Jesus na hilingin sa lalaki na ibigay ang kanyang mga ari-arian upang magkamit ng buhay na walang hanggan.?
  3. Hindi ba tayo maaaring maligtas at yumaman nang sabay?

Pagtugon

  1. Sa pagbabalik-tanaw, naaalala mo ba kung ano ang iyong tinalikuran upang sumunod kay Kristo? Nagkakahalaga ba ito?
  2. Paano mo isasalaysay sa iyong mga anak at apo ang iyong mga kuwento upang makikila, mahalin, at sundin nila ang Diyos sa pamamagitan ng iyong patotoo?  Ibahagi mo ito sa iyong grupo.
  3. Laging tinitingnan ni Jesus nang may pagmamahal ang sinumang tumatakas sa Kanya. Ang buong aklat ng ay isang  Hosea ay patotoo dito. Maaaring kilala mo o nakatagpo ka ng isang taong nakarinig ng Ebanghelyo ngunit “lumakad nang malungkot” o nahihirapang tumugon at sumunod kay Jesus, o kaya naman isang mananampalataya na naligaw ng landas. Maglista ng tatlong pangalan kung sino ang maaari mong ipagdasal. Abutin sila at sundan sila.
