“As I follow Jesus,  I will proclaim that He is the Messiah.”

Discovery Question

  1. What is the gist of the passage?
  2. How did Jesus respond to John and his disciples as soon as he saw them following him?
  3. What happened after the group followed Jesus?

Understanding Questions 

  1. What did John mean when he said “Look , the Lamb of God”?
  2. In verse 38, when John’s disciples heard that Jesus was walking by, they immediately followed Him. As soon as Jesus noticed them, He asked them “What do you want?”. What were the two disciples of John seeking and how did Jesus respond? How are they shaped by Jesus’ words later on in the passage?
  3. In verse 41, what prompted Andrew to immediately call his brother Simon? What did he come to realize about Jesus after spending time with him?

Application Questions

  1. What do you do when you discover something profound and remarkable? Who do you often tell about it first?
  2. In this passage, Andrew found his brother Simon Peter at once and told him that he had found the Messiah.. Are you like Andrew, or do you find it difficult or challenging to share Jesus as the Messiah to your family members? Pray about it with your group.

  1. Ano ang diwa ng sipi?
  2. Paano tumugon si Jesus kay Juan at sa kanyang mga alagad nang makita niyang sumusunod sila sa kanya?
  3. Ano ang nangyari pagkatapos sumunod ang grupo kay Jesus?

Pag-unawa

  1. Ano ang ibig sabihin ni Juan nang sabihin niyang “Tingnan mo, ang Kordero ng Diyos”?
  2. Sa talata 38, nang marinig ng mga disipulo ni Juan na dumaraan si Jesus, agad silang sumunod sa Kanya. Nang mapansin sila ni Jesus, tinanong Niya sila, “Ano ang gusto ninyo?”. Ano ang hinahanap ng dalawang disipulo ni Juan at paano tumugon si Jesus? Paano sila hinuhubog ng mga salita ni Jesus sa bandang huli sa talata?
  3. Sa talata 41, ano ang nag-udyok kay Andres na tawagin kaagad ang kanyang kapatid na si Simon. Ano ang napagtanto niya tungkol kay Jesus pagkatapos niyang makasama siya?

Pagtugon

  1. Ano ang gagawin mo kapag natuklasan mo ang isang bagay na malalim at kapansin-pansin? Sino ang madalas mong unang sinasabi tungkol dito?
  2. Sa talatang ito, agad na natagpuan ni Andres ang kanyang kapatid na si Simon Pedro at sinabi sa kanya na natagpuan na niya ang Mesiyas. Ipagdasal ito kasama ng iyong grupo.
