What Are Discipleship Groups?

Discipleship groups or more commonly known as cell groups are small groups of people who meet on a weekly basis to study the Bible, fellowship and give mutual encouragement. You can unload your problems, ask your questions, air your spiritual concerns, and also celebrate your achievements with people who know what you’re going through.

Where Should They Meet?

Ideally the small groups should meet in areas where their presence can influence others (e.g., workplace, community, house, campus).

However since the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent quarantine restrictions, small groups have been meeting virtually via Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Messenger Rooms, etc. There is practically no limitations nowadays because we can hold discipleship groups with anyone around the world!

So What Will Be Expected of Me?

  Attend meetings.
  Participate in discussions.
Commit to confidentiality, honesty, mutual respect, and diligently study the Bible.
Refrain from using the small group meetings for conducting business or borrowing money.

Is This a Members-only Thing?

You don’t have to be a KBCF member to join a small group! Anyone who wants to learn more about God is welcome. If you’re already a KBCF member, regular or attendee, we highly encouraged you to join.

Do I have to share personal matters? I’m a very private person.

Only if you want to. If you do share, don’t worry. Cell Group members are sworn to strict confidentiality.

I don’t go to KBCF services. Do I have to start attending the worship services when I join a Cell Group?

No. We encourage you to, though; they’re good for your spiritual growth. Also, some of our Bible studies are based on the Sunday messages. But if you’re not ready to attend our church services, or if you’re fine attending your existing church, you don’t have to come on Sunday.
